| Bower Collective Founders Marcus Hill and Nick TordayOur Story
We (Marcus and Nick) are old friends who share a passion for sustainability and using business as a force for good. We launched Bower Collective in 2020 because less than 10% of plastic waste gets recycled and we realised that there weren’t many high quality natural products that could also help you cut down single-use plastic.
At Bower, we make our products from the finest natural ingredients such as coconut oil, aloe vera, natural citric acid and plant based essential oils. But just as important, is what we don’t put into Bower products. They are free from toxic chemicals, parabens, harsh surfactants, bleach, synthetic fragrances and more. So Bower products are good for you and your home as well as the planet!
The wide range of Bower products are enriched with essential oils giving them delightful fragrances. Luxuriate with the smell of Coconut and Orchid body wash or Orange Blossom & Bergamot laundry liquid!
'Bower’s vision is to eliminate plastic waste and help you enjoy a more sustainable home! We do this with the Bower range of outstanding natural products, fragranced with essential oils and delivered in reusable packaging.'
Bower was founded to tackle plastic waste at source by creating natural products delivered in our unique reusable & traceable BowerPack™ packaging. After decanting our gorgeous products into one of our recycled and reusable bottles, empty pouches can be returned for free to be reused, eliminating any waste!
A life cycle analysis showed our closed loop system saves up to 76% more carbon than single-use plastic packaging. BowerPack™️ is also unique due to its traceability. Customers can scan the QR code on the back of pack to find out how many times it has been reused and how much plastic waste has been saved. We want our community to be proud of their positive impact by choosing circularity with Bower! Circularity is the promise of a better future and our team here at Bower is committed to continue this epic mission of circularity and eliminating plastic waste.
We’ve also teamed up with our charity partners at CleanHub to expand our mission and directly support waste-picking communities in rural India who remove ocean-bound plastic.
This ocean-bound plastic is used to generate energy and power local communities. To date, we’ve already removed 16,000kgs with Cleanhub and are committed to hit 20,000kgs by March 2025.
How customers recycle their empty pouches in your store:
Our brand story is inspired by the bowerbird which is known for building intricate nests called bowers. The bowerbirds often decorate them with colourful objects, including repurposing bits of plastic. With over 200,000 customers refilling and reusing with Bower, to date we’ve saved the equivalent of 9.5 million plastic bottles and are making progress towards helping UK homes become more sustainable, natural and fragrant!
