Koota Juice is introducing mangosteen juice – a tropical superfruit that is a vibrant source of antioxidants, xanthones, vitamins and minerals.

Mangosteen

Mangosteen, one of the healthiest fruits in the world, is widely known as the ‘Queen of Fruits’ – a fruit so luxurious and desired that Queen Victoria once offered a knighthood and £100 to anyone who could introduce it to the UK. Described as the ‘most delectable of all the tropical fruits,’ it has deliciously sweet, floral tones that leave it unrivalled in taste, health benefits and refreshing qualities.
Above all else, however, is mangosteen’s hidden magic: xanthones. Xanthones are a fascinating and increasingly popular health comdpound found almost exclusively in mangosteen (and a few species of fungi). They are often artificially created in the pharmaceutical industry for their wide-ranging and holistic health properties, but mangosteen remains one of the only natural sources of this potential wonder drug.

Koota Juice’s Mission

Enchanted by this story and bewildered at its lack of availability in the UK, Koota Juice – a family team of two teachers and their son – set out to fulfil Queen Victoria’s wishes and bring it to the UK in an affordable, convenient and environmentally friendly way. As a result, Koota Juice was born as a start-up in 2022 and has since exploded into four different (and very popular) prouct lines:

Koota Juice Original – 100% pure, refreshing juice of mangosteen + pomegranate juice - Code J763P

Koota Juice Lychee – a tangy blend of mangosteen + lychee juice - Code J764P

Koota Juice Pomegranate – A sweeter blend of mangosteen + pomegranate juice - Code J765P

The Mangosteen Ethos

Not only is mangosteen far healthier and tastier than most fruits, it is also far more sustainable. While apple and orange trees are often chopped down after 20-30 years (as their yield drops), the mangosteen tree keeps producing bigger and bigger harvests for up to 200 years. They’re also usually planted amongst other crops due to differing light requirements, resulting in much more biodiverse and environmentally-friendly farming practices.
At Koota, we’re doing our best to keep this ethos alive – that’s why we’re plastic-free and use 100% fully recyclable bottles with paper labels and aluminium caps.
